No Interruptions Day Shortbread. First, the two PCIe x16 slots are closer than they should be. During the testing, the heat sink remained reasonably cool to the touch. The board is stable at stock speeds provided you stick with more relaxed memory timings. The south bridge is located directly in front of the secondary PCIe slot.

Some other boards have these features, but none have them all. The layout of this board is really good and for once we do not have a rainbow of colors that detracts the eye, although there is still plenty of marketing information on the board to let you know what options are important to ECS.
The stock cooler has almost no clearance left over after installation.

Not too many boards have it yet since it has HDCP support. All trademarks used are properties px11 their respective owners. Overclocking and Memory Test Systems: The board also includes four fan headers and a nice Smart Fan control system.

Secondly, the large gold colored heat sink behind the processor leaves virtually no clearance when even a stock Intel CPU cooler is used. The board was simple to install into our case and all connections were easily reached. The board is stable at stock speeds provided you stick with more relaxed memory timings. On a more serio Here are the features which seperate it from the rest of the chipset pack.
Intel P965: MSI P965 Platinum and ECS PX1 Extreme
The south bridge is cooled passively, and is connected to the north bridge by a shared heat pipe. For HTPC use, it might simply be the best board available. Eds ECS has talked a lot about catering to enthusiasts over the last year, but the PX1 Extreme shows that the company still has a lot to learn about the market.
Voldenuit It’s nice of Krogoth to fill in for Chuckula over the holidays. It would have been nice p1x the layout gave the PCIe x16 ports a little more room to breathe, too, and the board could use better x16 slot retention tabs.
Thirdly, the front panel connections are poorly marked and are laid out exactly like a USB header, which makes the connectors hard to spot. Log in Don’t have an account?
The PCB tested was revision 1. This is VERY important. I actually had to refer to the manual in order to figure out how to connect the front panel switches.
MondayNovember 20, ECS has recently begun manufacturing motherboards targeted at the PC enthusiast and gaming markets. While ECS has been creating motherboards marketed at the enthusiast community for some time, pc1 they have never quite gotten it right. The color combination could stand to be a little more coordinated but overall ECS is improving with each release. While I agree that the moniker “Extreme” might be misguided to an overclocking nut, it qualifies when looking at the features.
The south bridge is located directly in front of the secondary PCIe slot. Inside the box are the following accessories: The BIOS’s meager assortment of tweaking and overclocking options is simply unacceptable for an enthusiast board, and I can’t even begin to understand how ECS thought it could get by with such a bare minimum.
The layout of the PX1 Extreme is good but does have some problem areas. ECS was established in and manufactures motherboards and other computer components. Power and IO connector placement is pc1 thought out and their placement is nearly perfect. Following industry trends the PX1 Extreme requires only a few components to operate as a full system. First, the two PCIe x16 slots are closer than they should be.
